Our Homebuilding Process

Choose Your Home Design & Home Site

This process starts by sharing your our ideas about how you want to live. We want to learn about what is important to you. Our experienced team will guide you through this process. Review our many floor plans to find the one that is just right for you. If we do not have the plan you are looking for we can design a custom plan specifically for you.

Verify Your Financing Plan

This is the time to meet with one of our preferred lenders or another lender of your choice to get prequalified for the purchase or your new home.

Finalize Your Home Design & Structural Options

During this stage, you should schedule an appointment with your Sales Consultant to review the structural options that are available to personalize your home. All changes that involve structural options need to be noted at the time you sign the Purchase Agreement.

Here we Go.. You own a New Home

Decision made… Meet with your Sales Consultant to sign the Purchase Agreement. At this time a deposit is required. Most upgrades made at design appointments require an additional deposit at the time of those selections. Congratulations on the purchase of your new home.

Personalize your Home

An appointment will be set approximately five days after the Purchase Agreement has been signed to begin the selection process. You will work with a design professional to select and finalize your options. This process is usually accomplished in three separate stages. The first meeting starts with the exterior selections of the home. We will also review cabinet and countertop choices. The second meeting focuses on flooring and wall tile options. At the third meeting we review electrical options and appliances along with a comprehensive review of all selections made.

Pre-Construction Meeting

Prior to the groundbreaking for your home, we will review the options selected. Your estimated closing date will be updated to be approximately 120 days from the completion of your selections.
Construction Starts Under the watchful eye of your Construction Manager, your home will be built according to The Drake Group’s Quality Building Assurance Program. Our expertise and attention to detail will give you piece of mind in your home’s performance. Your Construction Manager is always available to you, particularly at the start of each stage of construction.

Pre-Drywall Orientation

You will be invited to a pre-drywall orientation to review components of the home that can’t be seen when the finishes are installed. This appointment is offered Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm and your attendance is not mandatory.

Pre-Closing Orientation

Prior to the closing of your home, will schedule an appointment with you to review your professionally cleaned home to ensure every quality standard has been met. This meeting takes one to two hours and please, to keep things moving along, only those listed on the Purchase Agreement should attend. You will receive training on the care and maintenance of your home and answers to any questions you might have about your home.

Care

Our relationship does not end once your home is complete. Once you move into your new Drake Group Home, we continue to offer support and advice for the maintenance of your home. Your satisfaction is our passion. We will contact you after 60 days in your home and just before your one year anniversary to answer questions and address any adjustments that may be needed.
